A repository for serial numbers. Given some time, we can decode what the numbers mean, which will allow easier identification of the Barracuda frames.

1995 A2Z - AB5020098

Post by neo_pop_71 »

My 7 year old daughter's future Cuda arrived the other day and I finally set aside a few moments to take some pictures... I'm going to have a project on my hands as the paint is a bit rough from harsh winters and sunny summers in Durango. It does come with a pedigree, the frame came from Eric Sakadinsky, Eric was a Dos Equis XX Team rider during the 1994 and 1995 race seasons. So, I feel great bringing this little 12" back to life... it'll have much better components than new... and this little Cuda will grow with my angel and that I love!!!

I've included a pic of the Mountain Bike Specialists Durango, Colorado sticker. This is the shop that took good care of the Cuda family in the early days, sponsoring races and kicking in prizes, and helping get the Barracuda name out there. They are still in business, 40 years later and they'll still setting people up! I was really happy to see that sticker, it just cemented the fact that this A2Z Cuda spent its whole life in Durango. OK.....You know I love it when the kids get a cool ride and the fact that this frame has history to it....BUT I have to ask...HOW small a guy was this Eric Sakadinsky...did he race this frame..I mean I am a small guy and I ride a size 14 he must have been a runt or used it as a pit bike. Have you been able to track full history of the bike,I think that would be cool to know what he did with it. Would it be possible to get in touch with the guy to ask stuff or would that be wrong to do,is he still around even???
Relax and have deep water thoughts.
