Even if the bike didn't have the XX Team history behind it, I would still keep it rigid until pee-wee was a little older. She is a daredevil, I'm going to have to ease her into trail riding with 26" wheels. Along that same line, I'm going without a front derailleur for now, again it's just one less thing to complicate matters. I'm a huge fan of 1x_ gearing, I think I'll probably build up this Cuda with a 1x8 drivetrain. I'm finishing up the final details on the 1x9 96'er (aka 69'er)... it has a Rick Hunter fillet brazed 29'er disc fork, all XTR drivetrain, PAUL Thumbie with a Dura Ace thumb shifter, PAUL Cross levers, PAUL Neo-Retro rear canti brake with Avid BB7 disc brake up front (not pictured), and various little cool bits to complete the build. I'm having my buddy at my LBS build me a custom 29" front wheel with a WTB hoop and a NOS REAL disc hub. All I need is the chain and cables and I'm good to go. I will post pics of the completed bike in the Off-Topic section soon.

Wish I had changed the triple on my son's 24" wheeled bike....If I use that one to see if my Daughter likes riding offroad I should be able to put a bmx crankset on there with the 8 spd rear RIGHT?? Plus I like the fact you are working with somewhat of a 29ner wheeled bike...you will be running a 26" wheel on rear correct? I was thinking about building a 29ner or another Fs bike...I like the thought of a 29ner hardtail...What do you guys Think about it or do you think it is all fad,how does a 29ner compare to a Fs???

Aw man, I wish I could see it and clean it up... I'd gladly post pictures! The problem is it's not here yet and the seller didn't provide me with a tracking number... I'm flyin' blind! I will post pics whenever the brown truck brings my box...

Just an FYI, the decals on the fork are not that special. There are 2; the XXTeam one, and the "Barracuda Bicycle Company" one. I've got a stash of decals tucked away that I'm going to eventually have re-created by some geniuses in the UK. When available, I'll be posting the files online here for people to download and use. I might actually have some images online already, just scans of the originals..
