Looking for a fork for the A2T

Post by Niika »

Now that the A2T is almost here, I need to find an appropriate fork for it. Any suggestions?

There's a Manitou 3 on Ebay right now, which I believe is what the A2T originally had, but I am a little concerned about the condition as I really know nothing about forks. Here's the listing:

Niika,

You don't want to mess with that... it's expensive plus you would spend a bunch shipping it over here. Check this one:

I can vouch for the Manitou Comp, I have one, they're a good fork. Plus, you can rebuild them like Mix and I did with Wings Suspension springs. Offer the guy $60.00 with shipping included, he'll probably go for it. If something happened and you didn't get the Mani Comp on Ebay, you may be able to buy my Comp fork, Mix wanted it for his 'Cuda Comp but I never heard back from him. Plus mine isn't as faded as the Comp on Ebay. Mine has threaded steer tube, so you could pick up this nice NOS Barracuda stem, I bought one and it's a beauty!

Good luck!

Mag 21 would also be sweet, or if you could find an Mag 21 SL Ti even better. Most will need a rebuild if they haven't already had one though. I think they are one of the better performing short travel forks when in good working order, and they are super light. I actually have a few i could part with but they could probably all use a rebuild. That is the fork pictured in the barracuda ad someone posted in one of the other threads

I'm totally seeking a Mag-21 in decent cosmetic shape, I don't care what shape the internals are in, I can rebuild..

Here's one Mark, very versatile listing...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 720wt_1141

The seller relisted this fork and dropped the price slightly.

Good luck!

Here's one that's in really good cosmetic shape, MarK. It looks like it's good all around, as it's been rebuilt.

I am still unsure about what fork to get. I actually bought and returned an old rock shox already because the action was very sticky. I was thinking of maybe getting a Marzocchi z-something because it had good reviews, but those are heavy. :?

I have a few that may fit the bill. What year is it for? I have a couple different styles. The earlier dark gold ones with black arch, the 94ish with matching brace amd 95/96 which was lighter in color like judy xc. I'm sure I can part with one or two

I thought that was a pretty fork, Neo. I was actually totally considering it, but I am too much of a slug and it was sold this morning.

I haven't been posting much lately because I am trying to break my addiction to the computer and get other things done. I read your advice a while ago (thank you!) but didn't respond earlier for that reason.
