Cool man, a well deserved break!

While you're in Vegas, as long as you don't waste all your dough in the casino, treat yourself to a super rare Redline as a replacement commuter. Everyone from back in the day remembers Redline for their BMX bikes but for a short time they were producing mountain bikes. The bike is a 1990 Redline "Thirty" and as you can see from the photos this is one of the few that made it through production before GT sued and won over the use of the GT "Triple Triangle" frame design. The frame should be Tange 4130, looks to be all original Suntour XCE group, hard anodized rims (probably Matrix USA), and it includes the Blackburn rack. I always loved the stem on the bike because the cable housing stops in the stem clamp bolt and the cable routes on the underside and over a jockey wheel... pretty slick design! Check the crazy steep head tube angle (just like their BMX frames), it's similar to a Criterium aka "Crit" road frame, the bike will handle like a Ferrari on Viagra! Derek, this Redline 30 has the perfect geometry for your build!

Only $59.00 or best offer ! ! !

"REDLINE MOUNTAIN/COMMUTER BIKE HIGH-END..this bike is in great shape..gears,brakes,rims..ready to ride..looks like a tall frame... 702-533-9364 59.00 or best offer..."

The ad was posted earlier today... don't hesitate... swoop on this rare gem!

It was bugging me last night, I knew I'd seen a Redline mountain bike from the same vintage. There is virtually nothing on the web about vintage Redline trail bikes, only BMX from this period. Turns out my memory was correct, the info was at the MOMBAT Hall of Fame website, here is a link:

http://mombat.org/MOMBAT/Bikes/1990_Redline_44.html

Granted the frame designs aren't the same but the decals match as do the similar vintage Suntour component, XCD vs XCE. Another thing I found that backs the rare nature of this era frame was on MTBR, the original posting highlights the fact that in 26 years of riding trails in NorCal he has never seen a Redline mountain bike.

http://forums.mtbr.com/vintage-retro-cl ... 73786.html

Many manufacturers were selling an e-stays bike (likely made by Nishiki, same build characteristics) but it's the unique pre-lawsuit design of this frame that I think is so cool. I'm loving it, I wish it were my size and close by, it would be in my garage by now!

Hurry up Derek ! ! !

Okay man, there you go... congrats on committing bike suicide... I mean getting hitched up!!!

All the comments over the years that Terry, Vinny, and myself have made about bikes and our better halves and you decided to still go for it... Big V. is right... you are a mad man!!!

Seriously though, I'm really happy for you and I wish you all the best for the future!

Remember - what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas...
so if you have second thoughts, you're allowed to leave her there and being 5 big ones up on the slots will cover her Greyhound bus fare back to SLC! Better buy it now while your pockets are full, if your winning streak ends and you're busted... you'll have to take her anyway!!!

Cheers!

-D-

p.s. I'm curious, before you called her your "old lady" but that was before securing the noose around your neck... what are you calling her now?
