I've had good luck with the John Tomac "signature" model of the Nevegal tires, it's light weight and foldable, not too noisy plus everyone I know that rides 'em think they're pretty quick. I'm not too sure how they differ from one to another other than being wire bead or compound used. If you find some used Tomac Nevegals locally for a fair price, I'd say grab 'em and see if you like them.

That is the model I have " D " and yes I always run wireless bead/fold due to being a weight weenie, which brings me to the reason I have them. I run them on the Single Speed so there is little chance of spinning the tire on a climb while mashing on the pedals and they are the only heavy knob tire I have other than my brothers old junk Panaracer Fire xc Pro tires on the loaner SS. I put ( Tomac) Small block 8 tires on my son's Trek which I kinda like, somewhat lite and spin up fast and would like to try the slant 6 someday due to them being the between tire. On my Cuda I use to run Bontrager Revolt SS tires which retired to my wife's Fisher till I can replace, but the new SS Bontrager tires I put on the Cuda weigh even less...they are like cellophane, super lite and fast as hell....just need to watch where I am going due to super thin side wall...so most tires to me feel slow

Hey buddy,

I've been known to be an open-minded idiot from time to time, I can tolerate quite a bit of peoples' silliness, however there is always that tipping point and we have arrived!

I can forgive what was said above and I'll let it slide as a brain fart but never again bash Panaracer tires and we can preserve our friendship! God bless those stubborn Japanese bastards at Panaracer for preserving their tradition of quality made Japanese tire rubber and not outsourcing to Taiwan like every other tire maker besides the high end offerings by the snooty French at Michelin and Hutchinson.

There is a line... there is always a line ! ! !

......Errrr..... You took that wrong " D " ...I really mean they are JUNK, as in dry rot and falling apart..but they are great for a build I am working on to roll it around and quick test rides so I hang on to them..waste not want not !
After the Kenda tires on my son's bike and the SS I thought it would be nice to try the slant 6 due to cost and ride quality is good...I know the Panaracer is a very nice between simi-slick and heavy knob due to my brother using them and my use of the old pair I keep around as a temp tire...came real close to running them ( new pair that is ) on the Cuda, but I had Bontrager simi slicks tires on her from day one and want to keep it as close to same as I can!

Oh, that clears that up, aii is well in the end... let's all hug it out.

I was messin'round earlier but I love Panaracer tires, going back more than 20 years, I've always had a bike with them. The other killer brand back in the CNC anodized 90's was IRC, the Mythos and the Missy Giove Piranha Pro were had to beat! I gobble up all I can find. My last score was a pair of new Panaracer Fire XC Pros in red/black for 25 bicks, those are on my A2L Cuda. A local guy that sells a lot on Craigslist had 3 NOS Piranha Pros, he wanted 100 bucks, I tried to get him down on his price but he wouldn't budge a penny. Now I regret passing on them since I'm likely to never find those again in NOS condition. Oh well, that's how this bike game goes.

Oh yes, used comp 2's and 3's with 2's being my fav on my BMX bikes in the early to mid 80's and ran the Mythos on the Schwinn late 90's... I have Panaracer's on the Lotus !

I like the simi-slicks and they are crazy lite and spin up fast, but I am not sure they are as good as the old Revolts for grip. I may pick up a used set of fire xc pro tires or like I said, the slant 6 for the Cuda....just not sure at this point of time. If my buddy and I keep doing more trails where it is damp, roots, leaves and dirt I will..the simi-slicks work great at the old limestone pits where we would run due to the hard surface .

The Axis hanging in the shop had the original Panaracers on it and yes, they were rotten.
